Google's Project Tango for interior 3D mapping and VR apps

As we know that on june 5 2014 i.e 22 months ago google the gaint has announced project tango that was part of Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects group (ATAP) for two years became an official Google Project in February last year.

Google also has launched a tablet for their project tango with the special hardware and software design to track full 3d motion of that device,with simultaneously creating a map of the enviroment.It runs in google android and uses Nvidia Tegra K1 processor,comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage.

Project tango is a mobile 3d technology which allows a user to take 3d images in indoor enviroment with the help of the device which uses indoor mapping sensors.In short Tango is a way, using computer vision, to digitally recreate the physical world.

Google is also planning to use its project tango for to support the independent devloper's to create virtual reality applications and services.click for more info

Bloomberg report stated,
Video games could have characters that hide behind real-life furniture. A museum app could show 3-D animations when you walk past an exhibit. A grocery store could highlight sale items and guide shoppers to the right shelf.

This report was released soon after the announcment of the google's VR headset in the upcoming I/O 2016.It is also rumored that google will also show its 3d indoor mapping technology.
